Some leather items are made to be "thuddy", others are made to create a stinging sensation.  Some are in the middle.  The meter graphic used on many of our leather items are intended to show you where they fall with regard to these categories.

If a flogger falls way over on the "THUD" part of the meter, then it's a heavy duty item.  These are usually best for advanced players.  The same for the extreme right, on STING.  Expect a more advanced toy if you by an items in these extreme ranges.

If it falls in the middle, then it's typically a more mild, lightweight items.  This is ideal for beginners.  A general rule of thumb is to start in the middle, and as you gain more experience, you can move towards both extremes.
